Enzo Fernandez had to be led away after being mocked by a Liverpool fan following Chelsea's defeat in the Carabao Cup final.
The Argentinian has endured a torrid time at Stamford Bridge since arriving for a British-record £107million fee during Graham Potter's time in charge of the club in January of last year.
Sunday's clash offered the former Benfica star his first opportunity for silverware with the Blues but it ultimately wasn't to be.
Both teams had goals ruled out by VAR at Wembley, and Fernandez scuppered a golden opportunity to give his team the lead when he attempted a backheel rather than playing in a teammate early in the second half.
The game remained goalless deep into extra-time before Virgil van Dijk netted from a late corner to secure victory for the Reds.
Frustrations among from Mauricio Pochettino's side were palpable following the final whistle, though none more so than from Fernandez as he went to collect his runners-up medal.
As the 23-year-old made the long walk up the Wembley stairs a Liverpool fan called out, 'Enzo, unlucky lad,' before bursting out into laughter.
Fernandez was clearly incensed by the provocation and glared directly back at the supporter.
The reaction only served to further erupt the fan into laughter however, and he was then promptly ushered away by his teammate, Jimi Tauriainen.
The fan later shared the footage on social media writing: 'Can someone get @Enzo13Fernandez some food he must be real hungry, real bitey there only said better look next year wanted to punch me on 200k a week plus n hes just fronted me'
Fernandez wasn't the only one feeling the pressure after such an agonising defeat, however.
Some supporters on social media noticed that Pochettino appeared to snub Chelsea owner Todd Boehly after the defeat.

We all knew when klop came to Liverpool. it took him years to get this victories. I know it's damn hard for us Chelsea fans to be patients but we must wait. The present owner is not the sacking one, so let's give Pochettino time. Liverpool is a better club n better management than Chelsea now

everyone is saying whatever his opinion is but one thing we all forgot is the state of Chelsea as a team. Chelsea is a team under construction and you can't expect them to hit the grounds running. Take it or leave it, You all will be afraid of Chelsea next two seasons going. Have you forgotten what Klopp said when he was appointed as Liverpool manager? " Judge me I'm five years time", now tell me what he won for them and years he won them. Don't misjudge Enzo b/cs you all want him in your teams.
Klopp never said give me 5 years to win stuff. He said first we have to transform from doubters to believers and then everything will follow with time. As far as Enzo is concerned, I don’t want him anyway near to LFC team. I will have Gravenberch playing over him week in and week out. He’s not a summer signing. He’s now into 2nd year of his contract and yet his passing and decision making is as shit as it can be.

the match was 50/50 both team played really well but at the end a goal was enough for the the trophy. Chelsea have the ingredients to be able to compete with the top teams in epl for next 2 years. they are the team to watch .

What do you expect from a team without an outright striker? I have been supporting Chelsea since 1996 but Chelsea had never been worse like this. The coach favoured compatriotism by leaving Enzo to play over 90mins rather than winning a trophy.

No need to be fussy around here mates. This game was a fixed match most of here don know about it many of you won't agree with me but it really was. I never believed England would fix match but I was staring at one. If you watched the game u probably had the feeling this is what was to come. Chelsea was not to score a goal but had the power of keeping the fans and supporters on the edge, they had to keep pushing so that it would look like they can do this. The first goal by VVD was practice of what was to come. Then before the goal if during the corner if you watched Tsimikas reaction VVD reaction and some Liverpool players like Konate then you would see a looming reaction. Then the Chelsea keeper was looking at the Chelsea players like he was telling them this is it everything was pointing to an incoming goal. And the last pointer if you still don't blv me look at the refs reaction
