Apart from the emotional connection, Messi now has surely surpassed Maradona. People might prefer Maradona for his attitude and spirit. But in pure footballing terms Messi has overtook Maradona both statistically and logically. Maradona simply had a much shorter prime to compare it with Messi. When it comes to Pele, it's quite hard to compare. Ofcourse Pele was THE guy back in the day who was the icon of the sport. But we don't know exactly how hard was the Brazilian league in which he was playing his entire career. 3 World cups are huge, but we should also consider it was a generational talented brazilian squad which helped him win those cups. He never had to drag his entire team on his shoulders like Maradona single handedly. And we should also consider Messi dragged an average Argentina side to the final in 2014 also winning the player of the tournament, but his team failed him. Apart from that he has won the Copa America, which pele failed to win and didn't bother to compete for long. Individually Messi has more goals, assists and golden balls in the World cups even though pele has won the trophy 3 times. So in my opinion it's a tight affair and both were equally good in the World cup. Winning team trophies are results of the team's effort rather than an individual. So we simply can't declare Pele better just because he has 3 World cups. But it is something to be considered. And comparing individual stats Messi has the edge. So it pans out even. Also Messi internationally played longer for Argentina than Pele did for Brazil. Now, coming to club football. We all know Pele never moved to Europe, but there's an argument that the Brazilian league was equally competitive. But we never know the true facts. One thing was sure, Pele was scoring against everyone be it European or brazilian club. Only thing is those European matches were friendly tour matches, which usually were high scoring matches just to entertain the audiences. But I don't take anything away from pele yet. He still had to play against the best opponents. The other argument is the game was much more physical back then and pitches were poor. I really don't think it's such a big factor, because pele allegedly scored 1200+ goals including friendlies. If the game was that much physical and brutal tackles were made then surely he would've had many injuries throughout his career. But he didn't have any such big injuries. He only missed the 1966 World cup due to a major injury. Also it's not like modern football is not physical, those who think otherwise should revisit the prime el Clasico days of Messi vs Ronaldo where Madrid players used to make horror tackles on Messi. Anyway, both pele and Messi played majority of their career without any major injuries. So it's only fair to remove this argument from the context. Even though Pele played in the Brazilian league, France football announced the updated ballon d'or list where non European players were also included for voting. And Pele was predicted to win 7 ballon d'ors the exact same as Messi. So it looks even overall. But I still consider Messi the GOAT with the slightest edge simply because he is still the best in the World and achieved his peak crowning moment at 35 years old. Pele at this age went to new York and had already retired from international duty at 30. So considering how Messi was the best at his teens, at his 20s, mid 20s and now even at 35 and still going strong in Europe. I think this is what gives him the edge over Pele as the 🐐 Open to friendly debate! (Edit : Another important reason why Pele and Maradona are little overrated was because they didn't have a direct rival who challenged them regularly at the highest level. So literally everyone was a Pele fan and Maradona fan during their period. But Messi - Ronaldo rivalry is probably the first in the history where two of the greatest went head to head and played in the same era. So be it success or failure it had to be shared between them. The World was divided and people now have a choice between Messi and Ronaldo. So that makes their achievements underrated. For example without Messi Ronaldo probably would've won 7 UCL, 8 ballon d'or and vice versa, and that one player would've been considered the undisputed GOAT without the another. But since they both play in the same era they have to share everything among them, which overshadows one's individual greatness)

Nothing worry me this season about our chances of winning the Premier League this season but Barca fans, aka winner fc, trying to support us. All of the teams they put their support behind last season all lost in the weirdest of manners. PSG lost after going up 3-0 on aggregate. Chelsea after their comeback couldn't get just the fourth goal and got knock out when they were clearly the better side. Man City got knock out in just 10 minutes when they were up by 2 goals difference. Liverpool dominating from start to end and still lost the final. When the kings of bottling support you, then you just know that the bad luck of bottling will be circulating you. Every spirit of Barca support to my team, I cast it in hell where we had send Man Utd Red Devil....

Some times I read comments and it's surprising that many Ronaldo fans in this app think AF is the only sports media that publishes these news, especially about Ronaldo. For your info, all news published by AF can also be found on numerous sports sites and apps so you guys should stop thinking AF hates or dislikes Ronaldo that's why they publish such news.
