Leicester have confirmed that both Danny Simpson and Shinji Okazaki will leave the club this summer.

Right back Simpson and forward Okazaki were both part of the Foxes team that secured an unlikely Premier League triumph in 2015-16.

Between them, they have made 266 appearances for Leicester and on Wednesday the club invited fans to celebrate their contribution during Sunday's final day clash with Chelsea.

'Danny and Shinji have been a vital part of the club's success, and Leicester City would like to wish them every success in the next step of their journeys,' said a statement on the club's website.

Simpson joined Leicester from Queens Park Rangers in 2014 before Okazaki arrived from Mainz the following season.

'Thank you for the last 5 years @lcfc,' Simpson wrote on Twitter after the news of his impending departure was confirmed.

The former Manchester United youngster has made 131 appearances for Leicester, while Okazaki has represented the club 135 times, scoring 19 goals.

Both have proved valuable servants during a tumultuous period in the club's history.

In his first season at the King Power, Simpson helped Nigel Pearson's side avoid relegation at the end of the 2014-15 season.

They then made a combined 66 appearances as Claudio Ranieri led Leicester to their incredible title win the following year.

Simpson and Okazaki both then featured in the club's first Champions League campaign before helping the club come through the helicopter crash which killed late owner Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha earlier this season.
