Furious Newcastle fans have ripped into former Magpies striker Nile Ranger after he was seen trying to sell 100 tickets to their Carabao Cup final on social media.
Eddie Howe's side are preparing to take on Manchester United at Wembley on Sunday afternoon, in the club's first league cup final appearance in 1976.
Geordie fans have been rampant in their attempts to secure a ticket to the historic final and, after some spotted Ranger flogging tickets on his Instagram, they're less than impressed with the ex-Magpie.
The 31-year-old, who is currently a free agent, took to social media to post an advertisement for his tickets, writing: 'Tickets available Carabao cup' and 'SERIOUS ONLY'.
Ranger then listed the prices of the tickets: 'Man United end £1150' and 'Newcastle end £2150'. He claimed that these were 'market prices'.
Shortly after seeing Ranger's Instagram post, one fan wrote: 'Areet @NilePowerRanger. NUFC gave you a chance - which you blew - in football. Why are you fleecing their fans? Is this a reason to boo?
'And how you do you have so many tickets in the first place? You’d be there legitimately but you had more arrests than brain cells.'
Another Newcastle fan took matters into their own hands and directly informed Club Wembley over Ranger's attempts to sell 100 tickets to the final.
'I wouldn’t ever normally do something like this but I have reported Nile Ranger directly to Club Wembley,' they wrote.
'It’s disgusting to see a former Newcastle United with a history of online banking fraud trying to profit off the fans'.
The forward spent four years - making 51 appearances - with the Magpies before eventually moving to Swindon in 2013.
There was understandable outrage from a number of supporters as Ranger, a former Newcastle player, priced fans out of attending the game.
And it's not the first time that the forward's career has been blighted by off-pitch trouble.
In 2017, Ranger was sentenced to eight months in jail after he admitted to charges of conspiracy to defraud by obtaining bank details and transferring money.
Wood Green Crown Court heard that Ranger had conspired to use the bank details of Diane Bloss in February 2015 and move £2,090 from one account to another.
During proceedings, the court heard that Ranger had obtained the details of Ms Bloss's online HSBC account and transferred the money into a Santander account.
Ranger pleaded guilty to conspiracy to defraud but denied a charge of money laundering which was left to lie on the file.
In 2007, he spent 11 weeks in a young offenders institute in Huntercombe for his part in an armed robbery while a member of Southampton's youth set-up.
In 2011, while still with Newcastle, Ranger caused outrage after he was caught posing for a picture with a gun.
Ranger was fined £6,000 by the FA in March 2012 for making a string of homophobic comments on Twitter, and attracted criticism for posting a picture of his name spelled out in £20 notes that same year.
He was convicted of assaulting two police officers in October 2012 and given a conditional discharge.
The footballer was cleared of raping a woman in the Carlton Hotel, in the Jesmond area of Newcastle, after a week-long trial in 2014.
Ranger found himself in trouble during his time with Swindon after kicking down the door to his own flat in 2014. He denied a charge of criminal damage but was fined and made to pay court costs.
