Mesut Ozil has become the latest footballer to create his own channel on streaming site Twitch.

The Arsenal midfielder posted an image of himself on Instagram on Wednesday completing his sign-up to the popular platform.

A live streaming site allowing users to broadcast themselves playing video games online, Twitch already counts England star Dele Alli among its members.

In the social media image, Ozil could be seen posing next to Twitch merchandise with the caption: 'Thanks to Twitch for setting up my account today. Make sure to follow me on Twitch @mesutozil. First streams coming soon - stay tuned'.

It's not the first time the German midfielder has taken an interest in video games. He set up his own FIFA 19 side at the start of September featuring eWorld Cup champion Mosad 'Msdossary' Aldossary.

Ozil was also pictured playing Pro Evolution Soccer 17 last year on his sofa in another image uploaded to Instagram.

The Arsenal man joins Tottenham midfielder Dele Alli in having a channel on Twitch.

Earlier this year,  Alli became the latest celebrity to hop on the Fortnite bandwagon.

He made his debut on Twitch  in April, where he could be seen playing the popular video game.

Fortnite is a free-to-play Battle Royale game in which a large group of players fight each other with weapons with the aim of being the last to survive.
