RB Leipzig's Nkunku suffers major injury setback ahead of Chelsea transfer

Christopher Nkunku has been hampered by injuries this season with Chelsea set to sign the French forward in the summer transfer window as Todd Boehly eyes a £52million deal

RB Leipzig revealed the extent of Nkunku's latest injury concern on social media with a post that read: "@c_nk97 [Nkunku] picked up a minor thigh strain in Dortmund and will be sidelined for the time being." It is not yet known how long he will be out for, but a muscle injury could see him absent up until the international break later this month.

The Blues have struggled in attack this season despite reinforcements coming in the January transfer window, with Mykhailo Mudryk, Noni Madueke and Joao Felix all joining Graham Potter's squad. Kai Havertz struggled once again in the win against Leeds at Stamford Bridge, whilst Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang was an unused substitute with his future looking set to be away from west London come the summer.
