Truth or dare? Twitter account change header photo to Firmino and Salah

Social media site Twitter sent a portion of its 56m followers into confusion on Monday after changing its header photo to reflect an apparent love for Jurgen Klopp's Liverpool.

The official Twitter account made the switch after becoming entangled in a game of online 'truth or dare' with a Reds fans.

After the account @HilightOfficial requested a dare, Twitter challenged the apparent Liverpool follower to change their profile picture to an Everton badge.

It was a dare the Reds supporter admirably carried out through gritted teeth and the official Twitter account were quick to 'reward' the fan for being a good sport by altering their own header to one of Liverpool stars Firmino and Salah.

"Under the circumstances, the least we could do" they replied.

The picture appears to be from Sunday afternoon's celebrations at Anfield when Klopp's side secured a last-gasp 2-1 win over Tottenham to keep their hopes of a Premier League title alive.

Scores of Liverpool supporters were quick to question exactly why the @Twitter account appeared to be supporting Klopp's title-chasers.

Unsurprisingly, the picture also attracted plenty of comments from rival fans unhappy at the choice of Firmino and Salah adorning one of the biggest accounts on Twitter.

The victory against Spurs sent Liverpool top of the Premier League by two points, although current champions Manchester City have a game-in-hand against local rivals Manchester United later this month.
