Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain has questioned his new pace rating on FIFA 19 as he continues his recovery from a severe knee ligament injury.

Oxlade-Chamberlain shared an image on his Instagram as he trained on a bike in the gym and asked EA Sports to explain how he has gotten slower.

The Liverpool forward has been ruled out for the entire season but is working hard on making a comeback sooner than originally planned.

Captioning the image on Instagram, Chamberlain said: '@easportsfifa care to explain how my pace has gone down?! proofs in the pudding'.

Chamberlain's pace rating for FIFA's 2019 edition is rated 85 out of a possible 99, which is five less than is 90 pace rating on last year's game.

The 25-year-old did serious damage to all the ligaments in his right knee during a Champions League clash against Roma in April.

The Ox has since had surgery on the injury and insisted during recent punditry work ahead of England's clash with Spain last week that he is keeping a positive outlook.

'It is a very serious injury and it can happen to any of us at any time so that's obviously something that is never easy to deal with and get over,' Chamberlain told Sky Sports.

'But I'm making progress and I'm trying to stay positive, that's the sort of character that I am and I'm feeling that is the best way to move things forward so I am in good spirits and I'm progressing for sure.'
