Cristiano Ronaldo, who led Real Madrid to UEFA Champions League glory in 2013/14 season, was voted the 2013/14 UEFA Best Player in Europe by a panel of football journalists.
The Portugal captain received the 2013/14 accolade from UEFA President Platini on this day in 2014.
Ronaldo, among the final nominees for the 4th successive year, finished ahead of Bayern's Robben & Neuer in a live vote by a panel of 54 journalists who had to select, via an electronic system, their favourite from a 3-man shortlist announced a fortnight ago.
This year, Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo and Virgil van Dijk have been nominated for the 2018/19 UEFA Men's Player of the Year award.
