Wrexham owner Rob McElhenney poked fun at Premier League sides Arsenal and Manchester City on Twitter
The Gunners currently find themselves top of the pile after 25 games, five points ahead of second-placed City going into this weekend's action. However, neither Mikel Arteta nor Pep Guardiola's sides can boast the best points-per-game (PPG) average in England's top five tiers this term, with Wrexham leading that particular statistic.
The non-league outfit lead the way, amassing 2.47 PPG, with Arsenal in second, averaging 2.38 whilst Notts County, Burnley, Sheffield Wednesday and Man City make up the rest of the top six. Now, McElhenney has taken to Twitter to joke about the rankings, claiming that he doesn't know who any of the teams are other than Wrexham and Notts County.
"Not sure who those other clubs are but @Wrexham_AFC and @Official_NCFC look pretty good this season :)", the actor wrote, alongside a picture of the table, which were curated by Playmaker Stats.
McElhenney, who helped create popular American sitcom 'It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia', teamed up with Hollywood actor Ryan Reynolds to buy the Welsh club back in November 2020, purchasing the Robins for a fee in the region of $2.76 million (ยฃ2.3 million).

It's just a joke. Check out the series called Wrexham on Netflix you will understand what is being build. Don't take things serious in life. Life itself is a joke
