Saul Niguez, Luis Suarez, Luka Modric and Joaquin have launched a campaign with the Juegaterapia Foundation in order to help children with cancer.
The footballers presented the 'Balon Pelon', which is a football that can be bought in any Corte Ingles store, on Amazon or at www.juegaterapia.org, with all proceeds going towards transforming children's lives in hospitals.
The funds can be used to build gardens or cinemas within hospitals or to buy consoles for children to use.
"It was very simple, I had no doubt when the Juegaterapia Foundation contacted me," Saul said.
"I do it out of solidarity, but especially at the moment we all have to help in order to contribute.
"I had a good time with Maria, the girl who I visited.
"She motivated me, we should all contribute and we want to sell as many footballs as possible in order to raise funds and help people like Maria."
The ball has a personalised message from each of the players who have supported the campaign, such as "You cannot surrender" from Suarez or "The best things never come easy" from Modric.
Saul's inclusion was "Never stop fighting".
"There are my values that have been instilled in me by Atletico Madrid, it's a good motto and having a motto that was tied in with Atletico Madrid was good," he said.
The vice-president of the Juegaterapia Foundation also said a few words about the inauguration of the 'Balon Pelon'.
"The new 'Balon Pelon' will not only act as a ball, but it will add values of commitment, empathy and solidarity for children with cancer," Valles Salles said.
As part of the campaign, the players visited the children's oncology units spending time with the children: Jorge, Maria, Albert, Pablo, Elsa and Miguel Angel.
