Nicolas Jackson has told a former Chelsea star to 'shut your mouth' after finding the net against Wolves.
Jackson was criticised by the ex-Blues player for his performance in Chelsea's defeat against Manchester City last weekend.
Although Jackson was unable to find the net on that occasion, he netted after just two minutes as Chelsea won 6-2 against Wolves.
In an eventful game at Molineux, Matheus Cunha equalised for Wolves before Cole Palmer restored Chelsea's lead and Jorgen Strand Larsen then made it 2-2.
Noni Madueke then hit a hat-trick before Joao Felix netted late on as Chelsea prevailed.
Ex-Chelsea midfielder John Obi Mikel had criticised Jackson's finishing against City.
Speaking on beIN Sports, Mikel, who played for Chelsea between 2006 and 2017, said: 'We've played OK, we haven't played perfect, but we've played OK.
'We created chances, we haven't taken them. And just an example of how Jackson finishes.
'You can see there, even though he was offside, he dribble (past) one or two or three players and the way he shot the ball!'
Mikel continued: 'You need a striker who knows how to hit a ball back in the back of the net and that's what we don't have.
'I know I talk so much about him and sometimes I sound like I disrespect him. I don't disrespect him.
'I think at Chelsea Football Club we need a top striker who can get us a goal.
'A bit like (Haaland), 91 goals (for City) that's absolutely unbelievable.'
Jackson hit back at Mikel as he wrote on Instagram: '@Mikel_john_obi shut your mouth.
'Don't talk s***, we are killing ourselves for Africa.'
Jackson has received much criticism from pundits for his inconsistent performances since joining Chelsea from Villarreal last year.
In the ensuing period, Jackson has scored 17 goals in 45 appearances for Chelsea.
There have been suggestions that Chelsea could sign a striker before the transfer deadline, which could push Jackson further down the pecking order at Stamford Bridge.
However, Jackson will hope that the impact that he made against Wolves will serve to further endear him to Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca.

Saying ‘Shut Up’ is unnecessary. Obi is a pundit and he is paid to speak his mind. Whatever Mikel Obi said is what every Chelsea Fan is either saying or thinking. I hope he is ready to be consistent because he just set himself up for drags when he doesn’t perform.

is not about Africa, bro. we Chelsea fans want the best for the team, and you players as well, so you have to do better than what you are noted for. Jackson, all we know about you is that you missed all our chances, and Obi is right about everything he has said. You need to be more careful how you talk to our legend, please.

Jackson scored one goal and telling the Chelsea legend to “shut up” is so funny. Bro the Mikel is a pundit and gets paid to criticize your game so you should shut up and do what you gets paid to do 🫡

those saying Mikel should shut his mouth are clueless. he said the truth and those saying he is not a legend are mad. how is he not a legend? won silver medal and second best player at U20 world cup, a nation's cup medal, an Olympic bronze, two carling cups, 2fa cups, 2EPL, a Europa League, a champions league, consistently playing upto Qtr or semis of cl for almost a decade, how many Africans has this? he wasn't a striker, he is one of the best DMs to ever hail from Africa. he is not just a Chelsea legend but an international and global football legend.

Obi should respect him Respect is reciprocal
Obi hasn't disrespected him. He finally scored a goal after how many missed chances and he is talking like he scored a hattrick

If Mikel can say what he wants to Jackson, then Jackson can also reply him in equal measure. Jackson played almost every game last season and all he gets is criticism. Palmer was played as in the number 9 position on two or three occasions and we all know how he performed. Just give Jackson a break. If there is a better finisher in the team, he should be played in the number 9 position and Jackson played on the wings
Telling someone who criticised your performance to shut up is not equal measure. It’s tantrums at best. Bringing Africa into it rather than admit your flaws as a player is just deflecting. Even as a winger, he needs to learn how to finish when chances come his way like Noni did today. It’s just facts and only better performances would stop the criticisms. He should take a cue from Maguire who was used as a Metaphor for bad performances by an MP in Ghana and after putting in better performances, got an apology from the same MP.
