Hello everyone! This is AF Channel. Here we offer you something to discuss, debate or games to play!
The Premier League has entered the second half of this season. There have been quite surprises looking at the table and also some phenomenal individual performances. Which EPL left-back has impressed you the most this season?
Here are some selected comments from AFers for the last topic: What your club need to do with just 2 weeks until the transfer window closes?
@Nonnymendez: First of all, I'd love Valverde, master the tactics of rotation perfectly. apart from the fact that we need a perfect backup striker and left back in the team, I'd say we are complete and good to go. it's left for the coach to know the perfect combo that would yield absolute perfection. it would also help us to notice players who aren't competent enough. now, coming to the issue of signings, backup striker and left back, I'd love the board to recruit Morata. yeah, Morata. I don't know why I still have this belief that he may perform better in a different club. he would be a perfect backup for Suarez. or the Nigerian ighalo. for the LB option, I think I'd love to see Emerson, the Chelsea guy, in Barcelona. he's been doing one hell of a job whenever he's been called upon. I would have also loved Barça to have a natural Right back too. I don't like the fact that Roberto is being converted to play RB. I'd go for someone like Tottenham's trippier. I have so much love for that dude. reminds me alot about alves. he'd make a good addition, with semedo as backup, then Sergio would go back to his normal position. players like rafinha should be discarded. Alena and ruqui Puig sent on loan.
1. I am both a Barca fan and an Arsenal fan.
2. Barca should sell a lot of players and there is also no need for midfielders. And if they are really adamant in signing a midfielder then it should be a swap deal. The following team should be the starting 11.
3. Transfers: Sign DELIGHT, Trent ALEXANDER ARNOLD.
4. Then they should sell either COUTINHO /DEMBELE-preferably Coutinho (Because Dembele is more talented and fits better into the team than Coutinho, but still Coutinho is one of the best. So he should be sold to some other team but for at least 175 million. If it's Dembele then he should be sold for more than 220 million.)
5. And when Rakitic and Busquets retire or transfer, bring in Riqui Puig and Oriol Busquets.6.then sell Malcolm (because it isn't right to waste Malcolm's future) and bring in an old fringe forward.
6. Then they should sell Cillessen because even he is as talented as Ter Stegan and should not waste his future as a substitute. And sign a really young goal or bring in old goals (eg: Chelsea signing Rob Green ).

Luke Shaw. All the criticism he got from Jose and now he is United's standard player. He is quick, can recover, cross and tackle. The people who don't see it must be blind. Maybe he wasn't the best LB, but certainly the most improved and under Olé he will only continue this way. His ball control is amazing, did you see the amount of times Lingard, Mata or Young passed high ball to him from the right side and he stopped it dead, or without any problem got it moving forward with the first touch? Immense. And he can quickly move forward with the ball or pass it to Herrera or Pogba to start United's attacks. He is my choice.

I will say Robertson 1.the left back position was always trouble until Robertson stepped up 2.for that young age he shows exceptional maturity and technique 3 he did well against the dangerous rw of man city ,spurs etc 4.he guarded the left flank and one of the reason for the impressive defensive run klobb done a good job of tieing him for 5 years he will be the best one day

for me the best left back so far this season is Robertson. he is impressed in EPL and the champions League. his consistency is eye catching despite the small amount of money he was bought from Hull City. I give Klopp credit for a job well done.

For me its Marco Alonso. It is safe to say that many had doubts over Marcus Alonso’s performance as a left full-back given he likes to be very adventurous going forward. Under former Antonio Conte in the role of a wing-back, Alonso did extremely well for the Blues. He was heavily involved in the goals and created quite a threat from the left. But under new manager Maurizio Sarri, Alonso saw his role get a little trickier as the Italian prefers a 4-3-3 formation, meaning the Spaniard had to play as a left full-back. It must be said that irrespective of his tendency to go forward more than often, the former Fiorentina man has done pretty well this season. In the four games Chelsea have played this season, Alonso has managed to score once and assist in five other goals. His goal against Arsenal turned out to be the winning goal, helping the Blues maintain a 100% record this season. Also, his partnership and chemistry with Eden Hazard looks quite amazing and it can turn out to be a lethal combination for the Blues in their bid for the title this season. If Alonso didn't exist then I'd pick Robertson

The EPL is one of the greatest leagues in Europe with some great player too... But to date in this season....Liverpool's Andy Robertson has been superb.... Signing his new contract see him end in 2024...... Andy has been great for Liverpool this season.....his ability to join the attack and exchange passes with the midfielder's makes him great on the field of play.....His defensive technic are something else..... though he is not good in the air but does everything required of a LB.....Klopp likes him so much and he's been one of his assets this season......with his speed and work rate makes me compare him to Barc's Jordi Alba who won Catalan athlete of the year award........ Andy Robertson has been the most impressive LB un the EPL so far this season.......
