Hello everyone! This is AF Channel. Here we offer you something to discuss, debate or games to play!
Some players are just born to be in the limelight. Such is the radiance of the exposure they face that even their breaths are something that doesn't go unseen by people. Who is the most underrated footballer ever?
Here are some selected comments from AFers for the last topic: What is a potential transfer that would 'make sense' to you?
@Christopher_Robin: Neymar to Barça would be a huge jump for Barça. to get him is the impossible task but if they do that would bring back memories to so many Fans.....it'll up their sales....their goals, and it would give Barca someone to replace Messi with once he retires.
@Akashgaur: I guess Gonzalo Higuain to Chelsea with Alvaro Morata to Milan in a swap deal would make much sense. Because you see Maurizio Sarri has lost confidence on Morata and his goal-scoring ability that's why he is been forced to play Eden Hazard as a False 9 on occasions, Olivier Giroud has had some trouble in overcoming his fitness problems...Morata doesn't fit the bill for Maurizio Sarri..he hasn't been able to pose the kind of goal-scoring threat Sarri would' ve liked him too...This is where Higuain's case is strong. He is tough, he is strong, absolutely lethal in front of goal and Sarri was able to get the best out of him during his time at Napoli adds icing on the cake ...Morata would get the playing time he desires and Sarri would get someone who on his day can be almost impossible to stop...It would be the perfect deal for both the parties...

I believe Garincha is the most underrated footballer of all time. He was the best dribbler of his time. In some cases he was above Pele. But Pele scored a lot of goals and thats why he got the attention of the world. And some how Garincha was shadowed by Pele's goalscoring.

Right now, I think Fernandinho is the most underrated footballer. He is one of the best defensive midfielders now. Because of other famous names, he is not that much getting recognition which he deserves. We should also note the fact that when City lose two matches consecutively, Fernandinho was the missing factor in those matches. For me, its Fernandinho now.

I believe Ivan Rakitic is the most underrated footballers, That guys is phenomenal, He is one of the most complete midfielders I've even seen in my life,He has all the attributes to be the most complete footballer in my opinion, I'm talking about passing, finishing, tackling etc, it's all easy for Rakitic.Look at Croatia's WC, He was the main player, but sadly he didn't win the Golden ball because he was in Modric's shadow,The Croatian coach even said "Modric's get's the attention but Rakitic is the heart of our team"

For me Son1⃣ is the most Underrated player in football. He will always do his best. He will give his 100% for Tottenham and for South Korea 🇰🇷. He is the key player for Tottenham. He has done extremely well for spurs in recent years. 🙏🏿🙏🏿😍

Most underrated player? There are lots to mention but I will stick to this man cause I'm a Man U fan. He doesn't get the praises he deserves and what pains me the most is that he is enormously underrated, sadly by a decent chunk of United fans as well as others around the world. His passion keeps the team hanging and he plays for the badge. He may not be the best footballer in the world but I'm bold enough he does to say he does his best in the team whenever called upon.I love you Ander. ❣️❣️❣️

I think the most underrated footballer ever is Ferenc Puskas. In fact he is an extra ordinary player. The statistics tells how good he was! But unfortunately people don't acknowledged his brilliance properly.

Most underrated footballer ! Criticize me, attack me or call me crazy, but it's definitely sergio busquets, no one really sees the genius of Sergio. He's probably the most tactically gifted player, When he plays, he thinks not 1 step ahead but a few. His passing is simple yet brilliant. A humble character on and off the field, If you watch any Barcelona game, you will find him all over the pitch. He loses possession once-in-a-blue-moon. His calm and humble nature on the pitch makes us to ignore the most important job he does on the pitch, breakup opposition attack and start a new one for the team. We tend to focus more on the player who has the ball but Busquets focusses on the opposition player who is more likely to receive the ball. He is the silent warrior for Barcelona on the match. in the past his defensive abilities are the reason xavi and Iniesta are able to maraude in the final third of the pitch. He also fills the defensive hole left by Alba. After Messi, he is the most important player of Barcelona team, but sadly it looks like he never got the appreciation he deserves, 😢😭🙏

why can't you mention the name of Cesc Fabregas. He's such a unique midfield phenomenon with the ability to mesmerize midfield opponents and deliver an artistic pass for goal anytime. Second to Ryan Giggs for premier league all time assist record and provided the assist that resulted the goal from A.Iniesta to give Spain first and only World Cup Victory; yet, he had never been glorified as compared to players like Pogba, Kante, Scholes, Lampard etc. Fabregas possesses great amount of techniques such as Vision, ball control, pin-point passes, pass accuracy etc. His ability is Master class because it's comparable to, but the same as Xavi or Pirlo.

City's underrated midfield maestro: Manchester City are the most in-form team in the Premier League right now. Their attack is lauded for its brilliant precision while their defence is also honoured for its sturdiness. The likes of David Silva, Nicolas Otamendi, Kyle Walker, Kevin De Bruyne, Gabriel Jesus and Sergio Aguero are heavily praised for their abilities. But someone among them isn't talked of in the same wavelength and that is the Brazilian midfielder Fernandinho. Ever since joining the Citizens from Shakhtar Donetsk, he has been a rock in front of the defence while also providing the attack with crisp and quick passes. His all-round greatness makes him an essential cog in the City line-up. And yet, he has been one of the last players people talk about.

1).Eden Dzeko One of the most underrated footballers ever. Džeko is one of the best strikers in football. Coming from a war torn country of Bosnia-Herzegovina, he shot to prominence at VFL Wolfsburg where he won the 2008–09 Bundesliga. In 2011, he transferred to Manchester City where he was mainly used as a backup striker or a super sub. He won the 2011–12 and 2013–14 Premier League, 2010–11 FA Cup, 2013–14 Football League Cup and the 2012 FA Community Shield. However due to limited appearances and competition in the starting 11, Džeko was loaned out to AS Roma in 2015. Despite a bad initial season, AS Roma made his a loan deal permanent and now is a regular starter for AS Roma Džeko is only footballer to score 50+ goals in the top divisions of more than two countries’ league. (He scored 50+ goals in the Bundesliga, Premier League and Serie A). He is the captain and record goal scorer for his national team, Bosnia-Herzegovina and he is referred to as the “Bosnian Diamond Džeko and AS Roma are best known for their exploits in the 2017–18 UEFA Champions League quarterfinals. Despite a 4–1 away defeat to Barcelona in the first leg, they bounced back and defeated Barcelona 3–0 at home to eliminate them and qualify for the semifinals. Džeko scored the one crucial away goal which helped AS Roma to qualify on away goals rule. On the final match day of the 2011–12 Premier League season, Manchester City needed a win to seal the title. However they were trailing 1–2 to QPR at stoppage time. But they bounced back 3–2 with Sergio Agüero scoring the stunning last minute winner as Manchester City snatched the title from Manchester United. However, it was Džeko who scored the equaliser from a corner a couple of minutes back. Therefore, in my opinion, Edin Džeko is one of the most underrated and superb footballers I’ve ever seen. 2).Jamie Vardy One of the main men behind the reason of the Leicester City’s shock 2015–16 Premier League title win. Vardy played for many small English football clubs before signing for the “Foxes” in 2012. Leicester City managed to save themselves from relegation in the 2014–15 season. They were given a very low probability of winning the 2015–16 Premier League title. However, the “Foxes” under Claudio Ranieri as their manager lifted the 2015–16 Premier League title thanks to extraordinary performances from Vardy, Riyad Mahrez and N‘Golo Kanté. In the 2015–16 season itself, Vardy obtained the Premier League record of scoring goals in most number of consecutive opening fixtures (11 games, all those were from match day 1 to match day 11 in that season). Since Leicester City could not replicate their success in the following season, Vardy was dismissed as a one season wonder. However as of 2019, Vardy has almost reached 100 goals for Leicester City in about 250 games. Vardy is also one of the best strikers in football. Leicester City can boast of having a Premier League title, whereas Premier League heavyweights such as Liverpool (Liverpool might have 18 English titles but none of them are Premier League titles) and Tottenham Hotspur are yet to win a Premier League title. Still, the sad reality is that Vardy will be unrecognised in his career, unless he plays for a bigger club. 3).Keylor Navas One of the most underrated goalkeepers ever, Keylor Navas is one of the heroes in Real Madrid. He played in a few Latin American clubs before joining the La Liga club, UD Levante in 2011. He joined Real Madrid in 2014 after he led his national team, Costa Rica to the quarterfinals in the 2014 FIFA World Cup, thanks to his heroic goalkeeping. He remained as a backup goalie to Iker Casillas throughout the 2014–15 La Liga season. After Casillas’ departure in 2015, he was promoted to the position of the main goalkeeper. Originally, he was involved in a swap deal with Manchester United in order to get their goalie David de Gea, but the deal did not materialise Instead, he became one of the best goalkeepers at Real Madrid, winning the 2015–16, 2016–17 and 2017–18 UEFA Champions League (a hat-trick), 2016–17 La Liga, 2014, 2016 and 2017 UEFA Super Cup, 2014, 2016, 2017 and 2018 FIFA Club World Cup and the 2017 Super Copa de España. This is a trophy cabinet of a legendary player However in 2018, with the arrival of Thibaut Courtois from Chelsea, Navas started to find his playing time limited. He is restricted to playing only Copa del Ray games because Courtois is playing the La Liga and UEFA Champions League games. He even once complained that he, who had won a lot of trophies over the years, is made to sit on the bench. Courtois might be a younger and more skilled goalkeeper, but Keylor Navas deserves everyone’s respect and recognition. He is a true hero, who is underrated

In my opinion, Angel di maria is the one of the underrated players. Whereever he plays, there will be someone to overshadow him... Like messi in Argentina, When he plays for real Madrid Cr7, @Manchester united Rooney was there, @psg initially zlatan was there, then there was cavani, neymar n mbappe... But in reality all the above scored too much goals and got noticed, but all ignored the creativity behind those.. For exsample last world cup qualifying match of Argentina, in which messi scored hat-trick, all the newspaper n media applauded messi but no media appreciated di maria, who assisted messi twice gone unnoticed... Like dat there are several instances where he gone unnoticed just because of his other superstars teammates... no one can match the match-winning workhorse wing wizardry of Ángel Di Maria.

I think Jan oblak is most underrated player in the world. In terms of performance I think he is one of the best player in la liga as well as in europe. He had the most clean sheet in 2018. He has been best goalkeeper of la liga in last three season. Still I don't see him being in the list of best goalkeepers. De gea, courtois, neur didn't have good season and yet they are rated above oblak. I think the reason for this is mainly because of the country he plays and his team performance in european competition. Jan oblak is the most underrated player.

I think the most underrated player is DAVID SILVA.He is good(very) at man.city.He mainly plays as a Attacking or central midfielder but can also play as a winger or secondary striker. If he have been played in either barcelona or Real Madrid, he would've been the common name in our tongues while talking about the Best midfielders,He would have been tagged the 'Greatest Midfielders of our times'.At Age of 33,Still playing bold role in man.city..While in his international career also he was put behind the legendary Iniesta and Xavi most times. In his long career he was not present in TOTYs and not have been mentioned in POTYs.But still he is Best ,not doubtedly.Hard working,Leader,Legend DAVID SILVA

J.Oblak is one of the most underrated player in football. He's better than Courtious, Ter Stegen, De Gea, Lloris. Believe it or not you can't name any better Goalkeeper than J.Oblak currently.

For me i think its Miralem Pjanic. Nobody talks about him and he is one of the best midfielders in the world presently. This season alone he has won about 90% of his tackles , has a success rate of about 82.5% in his passing. For me he is the anchor for juve's midfield , he is skillful, creative , does his defensive duties well and is an excellent free kick taker. Know him or not he is a great footballer

Kroos (underrated by Germany) he had to take the spot of Effenberg > Ballack > Schweinsteiger.. Bayern didn't care about Kroos, he became more of a Madridista than that GERMAN CHARACTER.. that's why the leaderless Germany is ranked 16th today..

For me its Parvad. [Cheer]
Just because he plays for a lesser known club makes him less popular but a recent move to Bayern will boost his career. His goal of WC was phenomenal. His visions such as half ground assists are amazing. His passes and linking are also great. Personally one of my favorites.

For me I think its Austin jay jay okocha. That guy bever git the recognition he clearly deserved. Ronaldinho, a two time world player of the year, confessed to have learnt certain skills from jay jay while they were together at psg, yet okocha never even got to win the best player in africa award. isnt that pathetic? There's hardly any skill or dribble that the modern players like hazard and co does that okocha didnt do or cant replicate in his hey days but what does he have to show for it? Nothing! If I'm correct, the only individual award he got was bbc african player of the year which i think for a player of his calibre is quite unfair. For someone that shoulders the burden of every singke team he played for, that guy was definitely underrated...
