Desparting Brazilian superstar Casemiro reckons Manchester Utd have a problem - because Michael Carrick isn't as high profile as other managers - but deserves the job on a permanent basis
Casemiro has told Manchester United bosses to give Michael Carrick the manager's job on a full-time basis.
Carrick has been a revelation since succeeding the sacked Ruben Amorim as interim boss. He has led United to 12 wins from 17 games and suffered just two defeats, to secure Champions League qualification.
Club bosses are expected to make a decision following the end of the season. Co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe knows he needs someone in place as soon as possible, so the new manager can start planning for next season.
United are still considering all available options, with Luis Enrique, Julian Nagelsmann and Andoni Iraola also being discussed. But Casemiro, appearing on the 'Rio Ferdinand Presents YouTube Channel', said Carrick has given club bosses a problem - because he has done more than enough to get the job himself ahead of other more high-profile candidates.
The Brazilian superstar will be leaving Old Trafford in the summer, but has urged United to give the job to Carrick. He said: "It's a big problem. Because he deserves to stay. He deserves to stay.
"The team plays very good (under Carrick). He will win any games. The team improves day by day. Game by game the team improves.
"So for me it's a big problem, because in my opinion, he deserved this opportunity. He deserves the opportunity, because the team is very comfortable. The team plays very good. We have big wins - big ones. So for me he deserved this opportunity."
Casemiro has compared Carrick's man management to Italian serial winner Carlo Ancelotti.
He added: "For me he plays at this level. He knows what the players' feelings are. Ancelotti, he is a big manager because he understands. He played. He knows what the players need to listen to, and he pushes, but he knows the time to push.
"For me, the best thing is he knows about the club. He understands the club. So for me he deserves it. Absolutely, in my opinion, he should stay."

true Michael Carrick deserve that job , what else he can not do , he took the team from Ruben Amorim and placed in the top three within a twinkle of an eye and it is back on track so why are you busy looking for a permanent coach when Carrick is the right man for the job? i am an Arsenal fan but i just speak the truth , give Michael Carrick the job , he is a Manchester United 's legend , he is the right man at Old Trafford

what's creating problems for Manchester United is the so called club legends, they're the ones that don't want to Michael Carrick become the permanent coach for Manchester United, they should know that even the experienced coaches can loose the games . if it's jealous that makes them not allow Carrick become the head coach then they should consider not being united legends forever because they're the enemies of progress. we've seen so many experienced coaches failing . when you see players having good relationship with the coach that means they like him and they with that they start performing well

This hype about a high-profile coach is giving me so much concern and difficult to understand. Moyes did well and is still doing well at Everton, Ten Hag did wonders at Ajax, Amorin was exceptional at Porto, they all failed, and many others. The so-called seasoned coaches never fell from heaven. They all started from somewhere. Kompany failed at Burnley but is doing great at Bayern now. As a Manu super, our games have become watchable since Carrick came. Honestly, he deserves this job on a parmenant basis. The players like him, they love him and play for him, that's just the tonic required. Give him the right players, let's pray for him, and support him all through the way, and trust me, Manu will be firing on all cylinders. Go united.
