Desparting Brazilian superstar Casemiro reckons Manchester Utd have a problem - because Michael Carrick isn't as high profile as other managers - but deserves the job on a permanent basis
Casemiro has told Manchester United bosses to give Michael Carrick the manager's job on a full-time basis.
Carrick has been a revelation since succeeding the sacked Ruben Amorim as interim boss. He has led United to 12 wins from 17 games and suffered just two defeats, to secure Champions League qualification.
Club bosses are expected to make a decision following the end of the season. Co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe knows he needs someone in place as soon as possible, so the new manager can start planning for next season.
United are still considering all available options, with Luis Enrique, Julian Nagelsmann and Andoni Iraola also being discussed. But Casemiro, appearing on the 'Rio Ferdinand Presents YouTube Channel', said Carrick has given club bosses a problem - because he has done more than enough to get the job himself ahead of other more high-profile candidates.

The Brazilian superstar will be leaving Old Trafford in the summer, but has urged United to give the job to Carrick. He said: "It's a big problem. Because he deserves to stay. He deserves to stay.
"The team plays very good (under Carrick). He will win any games. The team improves day by day. Game by game the team improves.
"So for me it's a big problem, because in my opinion, he deserved this opportunity. He deserves the opportunity, because the team is very comfortable. The team plays very good. We have big wins - big ones. So for me he deserved this opportunity."
Casemiro has compared Carrick's man management to Italian serial winner Carlo Ancelotti.
He added: "For me he plays at this level. He knows what the players' feelings are. Ancelotti, he is a big manager because he understands. He played. He knows what the players need to listen to, and he pushes, but he knows the time to push.
"For me, the best thing is he knows about the club. He understands the club. So for me he deserves it. Absolutely, in my opinion, he should stay."
