Arsenal news: The Gunners let a two-goal lead slip for the second consecutive week against West Ham in the Premier League
Arsenal saw their Premier League title bid take another hit as the Gunners dropped two points against West Ham at London Stadium on Sunday. Last weekend, Mikel Arteta's men were also pegged back from a winning position by Liverpool and these two results have seen Man City close the gap at the top to four points.
Just a few minutes later, Jarrod Bowen came up with the equaliser after latching onto a superb ball over the Arsenal backline. Arteta made numerous changes, which included a return for Eddie Nketiah, but the league leaders could not find a winner.
Man City closed the gap on Saturday afternoon with a dominant 3-1 victory against Leicester City and Arsenal dropping more points sets up a pulsating final few weeks of the title race.
Here is how Arsenal fans reacted to another disappointing draw, given their winning position, away from home, with a key problem spotted.
@afcjxmes - Same as every year. With our first team we can compete with anyone but any injuries and the drop-off is painful. That falls on Arteta too.
@chiddyafc - You put the title race in city's hands at this stage of the season.. Yh see ya man
@ReidTheGame - Man City lose a key player or two to injury and they’re fine. Arsenal do it and they crumble. That is the difference. Every year it’s the same
@therealzze - Arsenal not ruthless enough against Liverpool or West Ham when going 2-0 up. That and the Saliba injury has cost us the title. We go again next year.
@nuttyhill - This is where Man City's spending and having basically two first team squads is so unfair. Arsenal prob going to lose the title basically from having some injuries that City just don't have to worry about.
@TacticsJournal - Arsenal will need to work on their depth in the transfer market to compete next season in both the Champions League and Premier League. They’ll struggle with this lack of depth. They’re always one injury away and have been lucky this season.
@AFC_NORTH_LDN - Started off sharp then just caved in. It's not over till it's over but we've made the rest of the season hard for ourselves within 2 games, Can't be letting a 2 goal lead slip on both occasions. Disappointed
@tokes_the - My disappointment cannot be expressed in words. For the second game in a row we throw a 2-0 lead away. And it's ALL OUR FAULT.
Why so many want Arsenal to bottle their Premier League title challenge with Man City

I've read all the above comments, no one had said the truth. Arsenal has no bench. We drew the last two games because we couldn't get a good replacement for Saliba. A quality bench would have resolved this. In Man City, a player on the bench might even be better than the one on the field. Saliba got injured the defense was in disarray. Rob Holding can't give the same quality yet jittery. It's not Saka's penalty miss. Why ship in two goals after leading with two goals??? was it Saka's fault?

The Gunners have had an absolute fantastic season. Whether they win the title or not. Because nobody expected them to be challenging for the title this season. Absolutely brilliant
Brilliant of you bro

This league started at the same zero point for every team. Those on top and those below at the relegation zone , nobody had any advantage at game one. I ask again, who said Arsenal cannot win at City? Arsenal is on top because City and others below them could not win some games. Arsenal has lost points just the same way City had and will still do. Yesterday against Leister, If Iheanacho strike that hit the post had gone in and the other close shave from Leister had also gone in, the match would have ended 3-3. My point: Those shouting that Arsenal had blown it should wait for the end of the season. Nobody in the EPL is above losing a game, including the magical City.
dare u say Arsenal will even win at Etihad? looks almost impossible at this stage

says a fan whose club could not match City for several years despite the huge financial outlay. City has no advantage because the matches will still be played against Teams with their own pride and ambition. Not everyone is afraid of Man City like Liverpool.
say that again without crying

I have always contend that football is played in the field and not with mouth but there are some things that are obvious Arsenal is welting under the pressure at this stage of the competition whilst City has moved up a couple of gears. Arsenal has one competition to concentrate on, City has three so who really is better at this stage. I have said before I will not say Arsenal will win until they can stave off the pressure from City

arteta is the main reason for us to lose, sometimes as a coach you have to manage to win crucial games at this stage of the competition.he makes blunder during substitutions.

Arteta is a coward...saka has been off form..Nkeitah is as nothing..Peart plays like he is in a holdy..xhaka is a touring star..Ben White is ever sleepy and slow.....ARTETA OUT

arsenal FC problem is not saliba's injury but Arteta's lack of experience. he knows that saka lost form and he refused to sub him with Trasaard. why should remove Jesus, if he knows what his doing?

Arsenal did not start the league in 2023 with any pre game points. It has won more matches than any club so far and that is why it is ahead with 4 points. Believe what you like and speculate as much as you want, truth is Arsenal is league leader at this moment. Other assumptions are nothing but wishful thinking. You are not sure City will not lose 4 of it's remaining games, you are just hoping it will not.

Arsenal losing points against 2 teams with terrible form, Liverpool and West ham. If you wanna be champions you gotta win at least 1 of this 2. Man city will win all their remaining, they have easier fixture and Haaland is unstoppable
