Gnabry confirms that he will not play for Germany in the World Cup

Gnabry has confirmed his absence for the upcoming World Cup on his social media.

Gnabry's words on missing World Cup:

The last few days have been tough to process. A @fcbayern season which still holds much to play for after securing another @bundesliga title on the weekend.

As for the World Cup dream with @dfb_team.. That’s sadly over for me. Like the rest of the country I’ll be supporting the boys from home.

Now it’s time to focus on recovery and getting back for pre-season.

Thank you for all the messages.

Gnabry suffers an adductor strain during the Champions League match against Real Madrid, which he was substituted at 61st minute. The 30-year-old German has started on behalf of Bayern Munich for 37 matches, scored 10 goals and assited 11 times. His current market price is 20 million euros. Sky Germany first exposed his injury news that Gnabry would be absent for the rest of the season and the World Cup. His estimated recovery time is approximately 3 months.

This is not the first time Gnabry misses a major national team tournament due to injury. In 2024, Gnary was not on the field of European Championship due to calf muscle tear.
