Liga MX confirm inclusion of major international star ahead of MLS All-Star Game

The Liga MX vs MLS All-Star Game will be without a major talent with the (almost) confirmed absence of James Rodríguez (Club Leon) for the game which will be held at Q2 Stadium in Austin, Texas. Argentina and Inter Miami’s star player Lionel Messi is another doubt for the match despite his name appearing on an official MLS squad list.

The Colombian playmaker has not travelled to the United States with his teammates due to a muscle issue and decided to let the player rest and carry out his recovery procedure.

Liga MX boost

However, despite being initially ruled out of playing in Austin, Spanish defender and captain of Rayados de Monterrey, Sergio Ramos will now be present at the All-Star with news of the veteran playing being confirmed by Liga MX chief Mikel Arriola posting confirmation on his X/Twitter account.

“The captain of the @LigaBBVAMX team in tomorrow’s All-Star Game against @MLS in Austin will be the legendary @SergioRamos. Many thanks to the @Rayados management and Sergio for their willingness and support to participate in the #MLSAllStar.”

It is unknown how long Ramos will play for in the game as a Liga MX XI face off against an MLS select eleven in Texas.

Having arrived in Mexico last February, Ramos has won over the fans at the Estadio BBVA with his contribution to the defense and his knack to get forward and still find the target.
