Man Utd are monitoring Fiorentina's’ Amrabat after club admitted he IS for sale

Manchester United are believed to be monitoring Morocco international Sofyan Amrabat, according to reports.

Mail Sport previously reported that the club were set to rekindle their interest in the midfielder, after initially targeting him during the January window.

Instead, Erik ten Hag's side made a move for Marcel Sabitzer to bolster their midfield following an injury to Christian Eriksen.

Fiorentina were previously unwilling to part with the 26-year-old, who has become a bedrock in Vincenzo Italiano's high-achieving side, this season helping them reach the finals of the Coppa Italia and the Europa Conference League.

But the club have since changed their minds, and could be willing to let the player go for as little as £30million.

As per talkSPORT, this has piqued the interest of the Red Devils, who are in the midst of a midfield revamp.

Ten Hag's reshape has been heralded by the arrival of long-term priority signing Mason Mount, whose £60m move from Chelsea was completed last week.

The Cobham academy product sparked the ire of Blues supporters upon arrival at Old Trafford after a video was shared of the player that showed Mount and his father descibing the dressing room as 'special' and 'home'.

Mount had been a Chelsea player for the past 18 years, after the midfielder joined the side at the age of six.

Securing the services of Amrabat would allow Man United to strengthen their capabilities in central and defensive midfield, and the club have previously registered their interest in a number of alternatives in the position.

The club's fruitless pursuit of Barcelona's Frenkie de Jong last summer fell through in its final stages, with the player unwilling to leave the Camp Nou just three years after his long-desired move to the Camp Nou.

Amrabat has had a sparkling season both for his club and his country, after playing a key role in helping Morocco make historic progress at the World Cup in Qatar.

Their fourth-place finished marked the highest-ever for an African nation, and came on the heels of landmark wins against Belgium, Spain, and Portugal.

His competitive price might endear the player further to the Manchester side, who are set to face financial restrictions on their summer spending as they look to comply with Financial Fair Play regulations.

Ten Hag is seeking additional recruits in goal and leading United's line, with Inter Milan's Andre Onana and Atalanta's Rasmus Hojlund the priority targets in their respective positions.

To free up cash for additional spending, United will look to move on a string of squad players, including Fred, Donny van de Beek, Anthony Elanga, Alex Telles, Eric Bailly, Brandon Williams and Hannibal Mejbri.

The club are also prepared to listen to offers for Anthony Martial, Jadon Sancho, Harry Maguire, Scott McTominay, and Dean Henderson.
