Alvaro Morata may have found it hard at Chelsea this season, but he managed to prove his theory that eggs won't crack if dropped on 'natural grass'.

The striker, who has been struggling for form at Stamford Bridge, posted three videos of himself throwing eggs into the air, which did not crack when they landed.

The Instagram post followed Cesc Fabregas' experiment at the Chelsea training ground. The midfielder showed Morata that eggs do crack when they are thrown and hit the ground.

Fabregas, who departed the west London club last week to join Monaco, posted a video of his attempt with the caption: 'What do you guys think about @alvaromorata theory that an egg never breaks in the grass no matter how far or high you throw it?? He was so confident about it too... #sorrynotsorry.'

The Spaniard launched an egg into the air at the training base and the egg cracked when it hit the artificial turf.

Morata then picked up another egg and threw it and it also broke when it landed.

The forward uploaded his own clips shortly after his compatriot's Instagram post to prove his theory that eggs won't crack when they land on 'natural grass'.

The 26-year-old threw three eggs and none of them broke when they landed on the natural surface.

Fabregas responded to Morata's videos by commenting on the post: 'Boiled eggs don't count, mate.'
