On this day in 2009 - Barca thrashed Real Madrid 6-2 at Bernabeu
Barcelona romped to a 6-2 victory at fierce rivals Real Madrid to move seven points clear at the top of La Liga.
Gonzalo Higuain headed Real ahead but Thierry Henry curled an equaliser and Carles Puyol nodded Barca in front.
Lionel Messi slotted past Iker Casillas and, after Sergio Ramos replied with a glancing header, Henry clipped into an empty net and Messi rolled in another.
Gerard Pique grabbed his first league goal for Barca, shooting home at the second attempt after a right-wing cross by Eto'o.
Pep Guardiola's men, who are set to win La Liga for the first time since 2006, have now scored 100 league goals in 34 matches that season and, remarkably, against Real they could easily have had more.
It was the first time in the history of this fixture that the away team had scored six goals, a feat that as good as secured Barca's 19th Spanish title.
On this day in 2007 - Milan beat Man Utd 3-0 to reach UCL final
Milan started the semi-final 3-2 down but were ahead on away goals after just 11 minutes when Clarence Seedorf headed down for Kaka to drill into the corner.
Seedorf capitalised on confusion in the United defence to fire in a second after half an hour.
And substitute Alberto Gilardino broke away to wrap up an easy win as United limped out in disappointing fashion.
The result ended United's dreams of repeating their 1999 Treble, but they can have no complaints after being totally outclassed by their Italian opponents.
And in the final against Liverpool, Milan successfully took revenge on their rivals who beat them in the final of 2005 and finished the unbelievable comeback win to lift the trophy.
On this day in 1975 - David Beckham was born
Beckham's professional club career began with Manchester United, where he made his first-team debut in 1992 aged 17. With United, he won the Premier League title six times, the FA Cup twice, and the UEFA Champions League in 1999.
He then played four seasons with Real Madrid, winning the La Liga championship in his final season with the club. In July 2007 Beckham signed a five-year contract with Major League Soccer club LA Galaxy. While a Galaxy player, he spent two loan spells in Italy with Milan in 2009 and 2010. He was the first British footballer to play 100 UEFA Champions League games.
In international football, Beckham made his England debut on 1 September 1996 at the age of 21. He was captain for six years, earning 58 caps during his tenure. He made 115 career appearances in total, appearing at three FIFA World Cup tournaments, in 1998, 2002 and 2006, and two UEFA European Championship tournaments, in 2000 and 2004.
Beckham has been hailed as one of the greatest midfielders of all time. He was runner-up in the Ballon d'Or, twice runner-up for FIFA World Player of the Year and in 2004 was named by Pelé in the FIFA 100 list of the world's greatest living players. He was inducted into the English Football Hall of Fame in 2008.
Beckham has consistently ranked among the highest earners in football, and in 2013 was listed as the highest-paid player in the world, having earned over $50 million in the previous 12 months. He has been married to Victoria Beckham since 1999 and they have four children. He has been a UNICEF UK ambassador since 2005, and in 2015 he launched 7: The David Beckham UNICEF Fund. In 2014, MLS announced that Beckham and a group of investors would own an Inter Miami CF, which will begin in 2020.
On this day in 2016 - Leicester City completed the MIRACLE
Leicester won the Premier League on 2 May 2016 after Tottenham threw away a 2–0 lead against Chelsea, drawing 2–2 at the "Battle of Stamford Bridge".
This completed the fastest seven-year rise to the title except for Ipswich Town in 1962, and Leicester faced a far more unequal top tier than Ipswich did back then. Bookmakers thought Leicester's victory was so unlikely that Ladbrokes and William Hill offered odds of 5,000–1 for it at the start of the season.
The scale of the surprise attracted global attention for the club and the city of Leicester. The Economist declared it would be "pored over for management lessons". Several commentators have viewed it as an inspiration to other clubs and fundamentally transforming the expectations similar sized clubs face in English football.
Leicester became known for their counterattacking style of play, "incredible pace in the areas it is most essential" and defensive solidarity.

This is the season that started the golden age for Barcelona. Puyol being a rock in defense, Xavi bossing the midfield, Messi becoming the best ever. Many Madrid fans brag about 11 Champions Leagues despite having never formed a part of those achievements. In my lifetime Ive seen 4 of the 5 CL's, the La Liga dominance, the 2-6, 5-0, 5-1and 0-4's vs Real Madrid. Ive also seen Madrid get so desperate they legally accused Barcelona of doping and had no other choice but to spend €350 Million in 1 summer just to try keeping up with Barcelona's La Masia success. This game was something special. If you see this match , barca is playing simple football , all real madrid was required was too defend more and they are playing forward like they have got messi. And At last HALA Madrid fans at the end leaving the stadium plastic scums. 😂😂😂
