Jacqueline Gold, daughter of West Ham owner David, has revealed she has a 'good feeling' about the Hammers' Premier League clash with Manchester City – three hours after the game was called off due to extreme weather conditions.
The Sunday afternoon fixture was supposed to kick off at 4.30pm but was postponed amid staff and supporter safety concerns following the arrival of Storm Ciara.
In a statement released on Twitter, City said: 'Due to extreme and escalating weather conditions and in the interests of supporter and staff safety, today's Premier League match against West Ham has been postponed.'
However, in what is thought to be a scheduled tweet on Hootsuite, the Ann Summers CEO cheered on the Hammers hours after it was announced that no football would be played at the Etihad.
Jacqueline tweeted: 'Got a good feeling about the game today... Let's do this! @WestHam #WHUFC'
The embarrassing gaffe comes at a time where West Ham's co-owners, David Gold and David Sullivan, are facing intense scrutiny over their stewardship at the London Stadium.
And it seems that when it rains, it pours for the West Ham owners who have faced vehement protests from their own fanbase as the club finds itself in a relegation battle.
One Hammers supporter was banned last week for wearing an anti-board T-shirt while acting as a flag-bearer at the London Stadium last week, while a senior national newspaper football correspondent had been banned from covering West Ham matches following his criticisms on Sunday Supplement.
The east London club received an 90-second apology from Sky Sports for the criticisms made on the program.
