Graeme Souness has typical response to Neymar 'flying hairdresser to Qatar'

ITV pundit Graeme Souness made a typical response to being told that Brazil star Neymar flew his hairdresser from Paris to Qatar to dye his hair blonde at the World Cup. 

The Paris Saint-Germain star missed his nation's final two games with an injury and was a doubt for the remainder of the tournament, but returned to the starting lineup to take on South Korea in the last 16.

Host Mark Pougatch informed Souness of Neymar's call and why he chose to dye his hair for the game on Monday. "Graeme, I'm not going to ask you about the fact that Neymar had his hairdresser flown in from Paris to bleach his hair to face South Korea," Pougatch said. "As the last time he faced South Korea he had blonde hair and scored twice."

Souness, who has been known for his blunt comments live on air and previously had not been impressed with former Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba's changing style of hair, replied to the news: "What, no hairdressers here that could do it?"

The Liverpool icon was very complimentary of Neymar's ability on the pitch though. "He's one of them players that perform on the big stage," Souness added. "He can change games, go-to man time and time again, scored 75 goals - only Pele is more with 77 - he's the real deal."

"But I've seen him in games appear and look not to be interested. But I imagine on this level he'll be bang at it. It's quite - not like for like as Fred's going out - it's more responsibility on Casemiro and [Lucas] Paqueta to do a holding job in there now, because Fred, for all his qualities, which haven't been particularly creative, he does a job going back towards his own goal, does the hard yards."

Neymar's hairdresser Nariko posted a picture of the pair together on Instagram. "As my country people say. Bahiano is not born, Bahiano debuts," he wrote. "Thanks again for the trust always brother @neymarjr , I'm very happy to be part of this moment! Opening day! May God bless you and our national team."
