COMMENTARY Sanchez hasn’t had the best time at Man United since his long-running transfer saga from Arsenal, but he was brilliant tonight. His work rate was second-to-none and he really put in a shift – something he’s often accused of not doing. If only United could get Pogba playing anywhere near his best they might have a solid, decent team. As it is, they ended up with a result that probably didn’t accurately reflect the game on Wednesday night, but Jose Mourinho won’t care about that. Having said that, this was much, much better than the previous leg at Old Trafford, when United were overawed and never in the game. Big steps in the right direction then for Jose Mourinho and Alexis Sanchez tonight, and fans were quick to acknowledge it. One fan said that Sanchez “at 9 is absolutely phenomenal” while another said the first-half was the best 45 minutes Sanchez had played in a United shirt. We completely agree with this and hope that it means a corner being turned for the mercurial talent.
