After scoring twice to help Barcelona beat Aston Villa 3-0 at home in the Champions League, forward Raphinha spoke to Movistar+ and offered his condolences over the death of Jesús de Miguel, the Tenerife forward who died after suffering a serious injury during a match.
“It was a great night, but tonight I don't want to talk about football. I want to send my support to Jesús de Miguel's family, and may he rest in peace. Today is not a day to talk about football,” Raphinha told Movistar+.
“Something like this can happen to anyone. It's too hard. After seeing the news, it's difficult to play,” Raphinha said. “Because the same thing could happen to you. Today is not the day to talk about football.”
“I have nothing more to say. I just wanted to say this and send my encouragement to Jesús de Miguel's family. That's all.”
