Shakira 'could perform at Lionel Messi's Inter Miami unveiling'

Shakira could reportedly be part of the 'exciting entertainment' promised by Inter Miami at Lionel Messi's unveiling on Sunday.

The MLS franchise announced on Tuesday that season ticket members were guaranteed to see the World Cup winner for free after he declared his intention to move to the team last month.

Messi finally touched down in Miami on Tuesday amid rumors swirling regarding Sunday's highly-anticipated presentation.

Colombian singer Shakira - the ex of Messi's former Barcelona teammate Gerard Pique - could feature at the event at Miami's home stadium DRV PNK Stadium, journalist Franco Panzio reported.

It is also claimed that fellow Colombian singer Maluma and rapper Bad Bunny could be part of the lineup.

Shakira, 46, and Pique, 36, first met in 2010, and were together for more than a decade, however, they never tied the knot.

That didn't stop the couple from starting a family together. They welcomed two kids together over the years - two sons named Milan, 10, and eight-year-old Sasha.

Shakira is said to have partied into the early hours with the Mercedes driver over the weekend.

The Hips Don't Lie singer reportedly headed to Tape nightclub in London to meet the 38-year-old after she supported him at Silverstone's British Grand Prix.

Messi and Pique played together at Spanish soccer giants Barcelona for 13 years.

The Argentina star is set to sign a two-and-a-half year contract with David Beckham's MLS team, with the option for a third season in the United States.

Beckham's Miami co-owner Jorge Mas has said Messi will earn in the region of $50million-$60million a year. That money will in part be paid by adidas and Apple.

Adidas will pay Messi a share of the Miami shirts they sell with his name on the back, while Apple will pay him for the subscriptions to MLS it gets upon his arrival.

Miami is dead last in the MLS Eastern Conference as its winning streak extended to 10 games last weekend. Tata Martino's team faces the Western Conference's top team St Louis on Saturday night.
