Algeria legend Rais M’Bolhi retires after two-decade career

Algeria goalkeeper Rais M’Bolhi has officially retired from professional football, bringing to a close a remarkable career that spanned more than twenty years across Africa, Europe, Asia, and the United States.

Born in France, M’Bolhi represented Algeria nearly 100 times, becoming a mainstay between the posts and a figure synonymous with resilience and leadership. Over his globe-trotting career, he featured for 21 clubs, showcasing his talents in multiple continents and leaving an indelible mark wherever he played.

M’Bolhi’s final chapter unfolded at his home club, ES Mostaganem, where he made six appearances before hanging up his boots at the age of 39. His retirement marks the end of an era for a player celebrated for his shot-stopping, experience, and unwavering commitment to Algerian football.
