All Football Power Rankings of the Week: Spurs & Man Utd overtake Chelsea

  /  Cai

Hello again! We organize clubs of Europe's top 5 leagues into an order that reflects the up-to-the-minute hierarchy every Tuesday.

The rankings are a season-long measurement of clubs, tracking teams throughout 2018-19 and taking into account results from all competitions. Our rankings consider advanced stats, full-season play and recent performance with some gut feeling mixed in.

Sides that have lost the fewest games naturally rank higher—though the strength of opposition met in a loss is considered—and both UEFA Champions/Europa League form and presence are used as tiebreakers for those with similar records. Teams that gather big wins against strong opponents get a boost.

Here are the Top 10 of the week >>

10. Real Madrid

Los Blancos go third in La Liga after sealing Copa del Rey progression.

Solari's side reached Copa del Rey last 8 despite a second-leg loss to Leganes, who eliminated them last season.

In La Liga, Casemiro & Modric scored to send Los Blancos into third place with 2-0 win over Sevilla.

9. Borussia Dortmund

Bundesliga leaders kept winning after winter break.

Witsel scored the winning goal to snatch a 1-0 win over RB Leipzig as BVB remained 6 points clear at top of Bundesliga.

8. Paris Saint-Germain

PSG erupted into 9 goals in Ligue 1 as the front trio all ran riot.

Cavani, Neymar and Mbappe all went out for revenge as PSG thrashed Giungamps, who eliminated them in French League Cup, with a 9-0 hammering.

7. Chelsea

Chelsea suffered an embarrassing loss in London Derby.

Lacazette and Koscielny were on target as Chelsea were sunk by London rivals Arsenal in 2-0 Derby loss.

With Morata heading to Atletico, will Higuain become the attacking solution for Sarri's side?

6. Man Utd

Unstoppable Solskjaer continued his record start as Utd manager.

Pogba and Rashford continued their good form as both delivered again in Man Utd's 2-1 win over Brighton.

Solskjaer has equaled the Premier League record with 6 successive league wins in his debut season as manager.

5. Tottenham Hotspur

Spurs sealed a dramatic win over Fulham and remained on third in Premier League standings.

Llorente scored an own goal on his first Premier League start of the season, but Winks headed a 93' minute winner to secure a late win for Spurs.

4. Liverpool

Liverpool survived late scare to beat Crystal Palace in a 7-goal thriller.

Salah scored twice as Liverpool fought back to seal a pulsating 4-3 win over Crystal Palace and kept their 4-point lead over Man City.

3. Man City

Citizens sealed a 6th consecutive win to keep pressure on Liverpool.

Sane, Sterling and Danilo were on the scoring sheets as Man City beat Huddersfield with a 3-0 win.

Ronaldo scored the winning header to seal Juventus' 8th Supercoppa glory and lifted his first trophy after summer move.

The Portuguese star, however, missed his first Juventus penalty against Chievo, but Emre Can, Douglas Costa, and Rugani all scored their first goals of the season to seal an easy 3-0 win.

1.Barcelona

Barcelona sealed another routine win in La Liga after Copa del Rey progression.

All Football Player of the Week winner Dembele scored two goals to send Barca into Copa del Rey last 8 with a 3-0 win over Levante. The French wonderkid bagged home another goal in 3-1 win over Leganes.
