Arsenal's Europa League quarter final got off to an ideal start against Napoli last night.

The Gunners scored two first half goals to take an advantage to the second leg.

The only shame was that they could not find a third goal.

Napoli midfielder Allan admitted the Serie A side did not play well in the first 45 minutes.

Quoted by TMW, speaking to MC Sports, Allan shared the conversations the Napoli players had in the dressing room at half time.

He said: "Worse than the first half we could not do. We returned to the field with our heads held high and we did much better than in the first half."

He added that he believes Napoli can overturn the 2-0 deficit.

"We must understand where we went wrong as a team and try to react. Passing the round is not impossible, in the second half we created and had so many opportunities to score. We believe in 100%, we have the qualities to overturn the race at San Paolo."

Arsenal had a real result by not conceding an away goal.

If the Gunners score just one in Naples then the home side will need to score four times.

It puts serial Europa League winner Unai Emery in a strong position to lift the trophy again.
