Aurelien Tchouameni was considered as an option by both Arsenal and Chelsea this summer and Real Madrid have now made their transfer stance clear
Real Madrid star Aurelien Tchouameni has been linked with a summer move to Chelsea and Arsenal.
The Frenchman's future in the Spanish capital is up for debate and the arrival of Jude Bellingham was said to unsettle him regarding the likelihood of consistent minutes. It was then widely reported that Arsenal were showing an interest in the former Monaco man with Chelsea even said to have submitted lucrative bids.
However, Tchouameni staying with Madrid looks the most likely outcome, judging by the latest update from transfer guru Fabrizio Romano. Speaking on his YouTube channel, the Italian journalist said: "I'm always receiving questions about Tchouameni. We saw reports about Liverpool then Arsenal but at the moment Arsenal are not actively working on that kind of player.
"In the midfield next is to understand what will happen with Thomas Partey and then they will decide on a new midfielder to join the club. At the moment it is still not something advanced with Saudi clubs, but there are no active contacts with the agents of Tchouameni.
"From Real Madrid the message is very clear, they want to keep the player and they trust Tchouameni for the present and future of the club, so it is not going to be easy to bring Tchouameni to English football. At the moment it looks very complicated and Carlo Ancelotti was very clear with the player that he wants him to stay at Real Madrid."
