Arsenal have registered an interest in signing Inter Milan left-back Federico Dimarco during the summer transfer window.
Mikel Arteta is looking to add depth to his defensive line ahead of the 2022-2023 campaign after Kieran Tierney missed several games this season due to injury.
However, the Serie A giants have attached a £20million price-tag to Dimarco - who would play second-fiddle to Tierney at the Emirates.
Tierney's 2021-2022 campaign was cut short after he was sidelined following his knee operation in April.
Additionally, Nuno Tavares struggled for form during his first season in the Premier League after stepping up to deputise for the Scotland national team.
As a result, Arteta is eager to sign Dimarco to provide the Gunners with more depth in their defensive line ahead of next season - according to The Sun.
However, Inter Milan's £20m asking price is beyond what Arsenal would be willing to pay for a player that would primarily occupy the bench.
Dimarco is yet to cement his place in Milan's starting XI - having made 19 out of his 32 league appearances from the bench last season.
However, the Gunners see potential in the 24-year-old left-back and would like to acquire his services before other clubs catch wind of his capability.
Arteta is also looking to add Manchester City star Gabriel Jesus to his squad during the summer transfer window.
Arsenal have also been linked with moves for Serge Gnabry, Alvaro Morata and Cheick Doucoure.
