Aston Villa are finalising the £2.8million signing of goalkeeper Robin Olsen from AS Roma after his loan last season.
Olsen cut his loan spell short at Sheffield United to join Steven Gerrard's side on a temporary basis in the second half of the 2021-2022 campaign.
Olsen only made one Premier League for Villa during his loan spell but provided ample back up for first choice shot-stopper Emiliano Martinez.
Olsen's only appearance came during Villa's lost to Manchester City on the final day of the season.
He conceded three goals at the Etihad Stadium - ultimately handing Pep Guardiola's side another Premier League title.
However, Gerrard has been impressed with Olsen during training and has subsequently decided to move for him this summer.
Aston Villa are expected to announce the deal with the 32-year-old goalkeeper in the coming days.
Meanwhile, Arsenal have confirmed the departure of Alexandre Lacazette who is set to join Lyon as a free agent.
Having arrived at Arsenal in 2017 from Lyon, Lacazette made 206 appearances in all competitions, scoring 71 goals.
Lacazette won the FA Cup with the side in 2020, and also lifted the Community Shield in 2017. He was voted the Arsenal Player of the Season for 2018-19.
Arsenal forward Stephy Mavididi, now at Montpellier, is also attracting interest from top-flight club - with West Ham, Southampton, Brighton and Everton all vying for his signature.
While Brighton midfielder Pascal Gross has signed a new two-year deal.
