Aubameyang takes his son to meet 'The Legend' Thierry Henry

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has been likened to Arsenal legend Thierry Henry of late - and the pair came together for a picture after the club's win over Everton this week.

The Gabon forward wears 14 for the Gunners - Henry's old number - but it appears he hadn't previously got the chance to pose with one of his heroes.

Alongside the smiley snap, which include's Aubameyang's son Pierre Jr, the 29-year-old wrote: 'Let's talk about this picture!! Pierre Jr like: come on bring me home!!

'Me like a kid: I'm waiting this picture since longtime. And of course The Legend. Merci.'

Aubameyang scored Arsenal's second goal in a simple 2-0 win over Everton on Sunday afternoon, taking his tally for the season to four goals in seven games.

Gunners fans will be hoping he can continue his fine form after a brace in the Europa League on Thursday - a performance which drew comparisons to France hero Henry.

Speaking on BT Sport, Sportsmail columnist Martin Keown said of the forward: 'The way he drifted in and curls the ball with his right foot, it reminded me of Henry and that's a massive compliment.

'There's a kind of swagger about him and maybe now he will start to believe in himself.

'I think it's important for Arsenal to have a player like him, who has that blistering pace and movement. He is following greats like Henry and ([Ian] Wright.

'He's been a bit of a slow burner but he is getting his confidence again and there's a certain kind of arrogance about him now and I believe he has got the talent. He was the good news for Arsenal tonight.'
