The start to the 2018/19 LaLiga Santander season has been a strange one and Barcelona are still top of the table, even if they've only claimed 14 points from seven rounds.
Never before in the three-points-for-a-win era has the league leader at this stage boasted such a low tally.
Since three points started to be awarded for victories from the 1995/96 season onwards, the leader after seven rounds has always had at least 15 points.
Last year, for example, Barcelona had taken 21 out of a possible 21 at this stage.
Points total of leader after seventh round
They may only be averaging two points per game, but both Barcelona and Real Madrid sit top of the pile after this peculiar first month and a half of the new campaign.
