Barcelona kits for next season ‘leaked online’

Leaked photos have appeared on Twitter claiming to show the first glimpse of Barcelona's new kits for the 2019-20 season.

According to the snap of the home kit, the club are set to break from the traditional red and blue stripes, opting for a chequered pattern instead for the first time in their history.

It's a design that their central midfielder Ivan Rakitic will be familiar with, Croatia having sported it on their away kit during a memorable World Cup campaign in Russia this year.

The away kit is a bit more of a nod to the club's history, with the yellow shirt and sash being a familiar sight in the 1970s.

The likes of Johan Cruyff donned a very similar outfit during that era, albeit with the sash resting on the opposite shoulder.

It is also a colour scheme that will give Chelsea fans nightmares.

Iniesta was wearing a yellow top with a red and blue band when he struck deep into injury time at Stamford Bridge in 2009 to send the Catalan giants into the Champions League final.

Barcelona's fans have become used to unconvential designs in recent years.

Not only has there been the recent phenomenon of a shirt sponsosr, but in 2015, the club did away with stripes, replacing them instead with hoops.
