Barcelona delivered a clinical performance to dismantle Real Madrid 4-0 in El Clasico on Sunday, and the club's social media team enjoyed every second of it as they posted a number of hilarious memes on Twitter throughout the evening.
Two goals in either half gave Barcelona a comprehensive victory as they showed no mercy on the pitch, and the club appeared to be in a similarly ruthless mood online as well.
One meme saw Kermit the Frog putting a drink to his mouth with the Barcelona crest on it, accompanied by the caption: 'I'd like some more of this.'
Another meme involved Spider-Man as Barcelona made reference to a previous hammering that they handed out back in 2009, when they triumphed 6-2 under Pep Guardiola at the Bernabeu.
Given that Real Madrid are the current runaway leaders in LaLiga, not many fans expected them to end up on the wrong end of a thrashing on this occasion.
It seems that Barcelona could hardly believe their eyes either as they posted a tweet of WWE icon Vince McMahon getting more and more carried away with every goal that went in.
Things then got personal, as the Spanish giants highlighted how Ronald Araujo had consistently got the better of Real Madrid forward Vinicius Jnr on the night.
Reacting to Vinicius Jnr's troubles with getting into the game, they posted the message: 'Check Araujo's pocket.'
Araujo managed to make an impact at the other end as well by powering home a header for Barcelona's second goal.
It was a truly stunning result for Barcelona after an underwhelming season that has seen them drop out of the Champions League before the knockout rounds, while they have also struggled to break into the top four during the campaign.
They are up to third now, though, which led to defender Gerard Pique declaring 'we are back' after the final whistle.
