In an interview with Inter's official club broadcaster Inter TV, Inter central midfielder Nicolo Barella reflected on the Nerazzurri's 1-0 loss to Napoli in the first leg of their Coppa Italia semi final tie at San Siro on Wednesday night.

Fabian Ruiz's goal just before the hour mark proved enough to give the visiting Partenopei their win and an advantage heading into the second leg which is due to take place at the beginning of next month.

The Italian international started the interview by reflecting on the match itself.

“All matches must be played to the maximum in order to win. It was a very special match. Napoli were waiting for our mistakes to hit us on the counter, they then scored and it was difficult,” he started.

Barella then went on to look ahead to the second leg at the Stadio San Paolo.

“We will need to be an even better Inter at the San Paolo. The victory in the derby was what we wanted and it was beautiful. We wanted to win again against Napoli but we are ready to start again.”

In conclusion he shared what the team's ambitions are for the remainder of the season.

“There are many games still to be faced but we want to get to the end in all competitions.”

Barella joined Inter this past Summer from fellow Serie A side Cagliari and has been among Inter's best performers this season. He has made 25 appearances across all competitions, in which he has scored three goals and provided six assists.
