Gnabry came back to haunt former rivals Tottenham in the Champions League on Tuesday night, much to the delight of Arsenal supporters.

The German forward scored a remarkable four goals in the second half as Bayern Munich humiliated Tottenham 7-2 despite going 1-0 down after just 12 minutes in north London.

Gnabry inevitably stole the headlines at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium and throughout the second half and after the final whistle, his former Arsenal camp sang his praises - with Hector Bellerin and Ian Wright leading the way.

Bellerin, who rose through the academy at Arsenal alongside the German took to Twitter to express his delight: '@SergeGnabry joke man.'

Meanwhile, Gunners legend Ian Wright uploaded a GIF onto his social media page of a young boy shedding tears to reflect his disappointment in Arsenal letting him go, alongside a caption of five hand clap emojis.

But it wasn't just former and present Arsenal players that got involved, with fans flocking to social media too.

One Arsenal supporter tweeted: 'Sells Gnabry to Werder Bremen so that he can move to Bayern and score a hat trick against Spurs. Big Wenger has done it again.'

Another fan, who saw Arsenal offload the young star for just £4.5m to Werder Bremen in 2016, joked: 'We should sign that Gnabry guy', while another wrote: 'Gnabry please come back.'

And finally, one Arsenal supporter joked: '3 years too late, but Serge Gnabry has finally become an Arsenal legend.'
