Jude Bellingham has joked there would be 'a lot of walking' in a team of the year selected by Jamie Carragher and host Kate Abdo on CBS Sports' Kickoff Show.
The Real Madrid star was asked to join the show to select between two teams drawn up by the punditry line-up to mark the start of voting for the EA Sports FC 24 Team of the Year.
Carragher and Abdo joined forces against fellow pundits Micah Richards and Alex Scott on the show.
The competing teams were not allowed to pick the same players, leading to two different line-ups being selected.
Carragher attempted to convince Bellingham to select their eventual squad, featuring a potent attack of Kylian Mbappe, Harry Kane and Lionel Messi.
'Look at that front three,' Carragher said.
'I mean, could you ever pick a better front three than that? You've got Mbappe, the best player in the world right now. You've got Messi.'
Bellingham quickly commented: ' I don't think there is enough energy in there', with Richards adding 'there is no legs'.
'You don't think there is enough energy in there,' Carragher replied, prompting Bellingham to make the cheeky comment 'No, a lot of walking'.
Carragher continued to defend the selection by telling Bellingham 'I tell you what Jude, have a race against Mbappe and see what happens.'
The former Liverpool defender and Abdo also selected goalkeeper Mike Maignan and a defence of Trent Alexander-Arnold, Kim Min-jae, John Stones and Theo Hernandez in their team.
Kevin De Bruyne, Declan Rice, Jamal Musiala was chosen as their midfield for the line-up.
Richards and Scott selected Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson, as well as a defence of Giovani Di Lorenzo; Virgil van Dijk, William Saliba and Federico Dimarco.
Bellingham was also included in their midfield alongside Rodri and Pedri, with Mo Salah, Erling Haaland and Vinicius Jnr completing the line-up.
Richards had joked 'if we get Jude in our team we basically win' when deciding to pick the England star in their squad.
His comment proved accurate with Bellingham opting in favour of Scott and Richards selection.
