Simon Adingra scored a brace for Brighton as they beat Brentford 2-0 in the Premier League Summer Series.
The 21-year-old who joined last summer and spent last season on loan at Belgian side Union SG, scored his first goals for the club - who will hope that he can be the latest of a number of excellent finds from their recruitment team.
It took Roberto De Zerbi's side 19 minutes to break the deadlock inside the Mercedez-Benz Stadium - the home of NFL side the Atlanta Falcons.
Brighton went route one as Jason Steele played a long ball up to Adingra who expertly controlled the ball, and with Brentford's £11m signing Mark Flekken well out of position, the Ivorian was able to curl the ball home from outside of the box into an empty net.
Adingra, who netted 14 goals in 47 appearances for Union SG last season, doubled the lead after 57 minutes as he found the far corner after Steven Alzate found him in space on the left flank.
Brentford had their chances to get back into the game with Yoane Wissa having a pair of shots - one saved and another go into the side netting.
Bryan Mbeumo also had a strong shout for a penalty after a challenge from Adam Webster, but the Seagulls resisted the pressure to take the victory.
Moises Caicedo meanwhile made his first appearance of pre-season for Brighton, amid interest from Chelsea who are preparing an £80m bid.
He made a positive impact off the bench after coming on as a 65th minute substitute.
It was a strong showing by Brighton who bounced back well from their 4-3 loss to Chelsea on Sunday.
For Brentford it is their second straight loss after losing 3-2 to Fulham on Saturday.
The Bees face Aston Villa on Sunday while the Seagulls play Newcastle - in the final games of the Premier League Summer Series.
