Latest Chelsea new kit news as a goalkeeper jersey 'leak' emerges as Todd Boehly and Clearlake Capital face a couple of big decisions by the time the new season starts
After a sorry season on the pitch Chelsea supporters will be looking forward to the 2023/24 campaign.
By the start of next season the Blues will hopefully have Mauricio Pochettino installed as their new manager, a constructive summer in the transfer window and be a much slicker operation off the pitch too. All eyes will be on Todd Boehly and Clearlake Capital as the club's owners look to put a difficult campaign behind them and really kickstart their time in charge at Stamford Bridge.
Boehly wants to grow the club's revenues to make it a competitor to other sides in the Premier League who are able to have more spending power because they make more money through sponsorships and other avenues. One of the ways Chelsea can bring in money is through their kit, which is a highly-lucrative marketing tool with a new strip for the next campaign expected to drop soon.
Here's what we know so far about next season's edition...
The colours on the strip are 'anthracite and grey' with the material meaning the kit looks different from every angle. As far as design is concerned, the strip will be the same as Nike's 2023/24 goalkeeper designs for other clubs.
The changes do not just stop with the design as Chelsea face changes to their kit sponsors. The mobile phone network Three currently sponsors the front of the Blues' kits for a reported £40 million a year ($50m).
Reports emerged earlier this year that Chelsea were planning to drop Three with their contract expiring this summer. There is also uncertainty over shirt sponsors WhaleFin, a cryptocurrency firm who pay around £20m ($25m) a year.
Sky News reported in April that 'a handful' of companies are speaking with Chelsea about becoming the club's new principal sponsor. It was even reported at the end of last month that a deal was hopeful of being done within the next six weeks.
