Chelsea have confirmed the identities of Frank Lampard's backroom staff ahead of the new manager's first season in charge at Stamford Bridge.

Eddie Newton, Joe Edwards and Chris Jones will work as assistant coaches, with Jody Morris acting as Lampard's No 2 in the assistant head coach role.

Newton was promoted to the senior setup, having worked as a 'loan player technical coach' for the past three years.

Newton first joined Chelsea as a 13-year-old and played 214 first-team games for the club. He also served as an assistant to former managers Guus Hiddink and Roberto Di Matteo.

Edwards was also promoted from within to join Lampard's inner circle. He leaves behind his role with the development squad.

Jones previously worked with Chelsea as fitness coach for nine years before joining Derby last summer.

Former Chelsea player Hilario is Lampard's goalkeeper coach. He made 39 Chelsea appearances before retiring from playing in 2014 and returned to Stamford Bridge as a coach two years later.

Morris worked under Lampard at Derby last season, helping them reach the Championship play-off final where they lost to Aston Villa.
