Chelsea transfer news: The latest Blues media watch with reaction to stories on another sale in the works and the future of Harry Maguire.

Welcome to the football.london transfer briefing. To help you keep on top of all things Chelsea going on in the market we've got the latest noises coming from social media, journalists and so-called ITKs, rounding up what's what in the world of the Blues.

Kylian Mbappe meeting

Kylian Mbappe has a meeting with Paris Saint-Germain president Nasser Al-Khelaifi scheduled for Tuesday, the pair's first coming together since the player told the club he wouldn't be staying past the end of his contract in 2024.

PSG are determined to either turn his head back towards Paris or sell him this window in order to avoid the unthinkable outcome of losing him for free next year, but Mbappe himself is keen to wait out the remainder of his deal.

The meeting between Al-Khelaifi and Mbappe will now come after the president delivers a message to the entire squad pledging support to new manager Luis Enrique before pre-season gets underway properly.

football.london says: Calm down Chelsea fans (for now, anyway). Without Champions League football it's very hard to see any way a move for Mbappe happens this summer. However, move on 12 months and there's a vague chance that something could happen, but even then it's minimal.

There are simply more stable, more wealthy clubs out there that can offer Mbappe a bit more of what he wants. Those clubs include Real Madrid and potentially even Arsenal - though it's debatable whether the Gunners can be considered more wealthy.

Outside of Los Blancos though, it's hard to see where else Mbappe might go. His huge wages are only going to be a massive obstacle for everyone and it would effectively shatter the new structure in place at Stamford Bridge. There is the case that he would be a true one-off transfer that could justify it, but how that goes down with the young squad is unknown and a risk.

Harry Maguire interest

Chelsea are said to be one of the sides looking at Harry Maguire this summer as Manchester United plan to move on from their captain. The 30-year-old only played in 16 league games under Erik ten Hag last season, getting less than 800 minutes.

As United move away from their second largest transfer of all time, West Ham have been linked with the England defender but according to the Sun Chelsea are also willing to take a punt on Maguire. It is said that he has been disappointed and frustrated at the way losing the captaincy.

It is written that he was 'angry, shocked and upset' when informed by his manager earlier in the week and has now confirmed the decision on social media with a post. Tottenham and Newcastle are also said to be amongst those competing to sign him.

United may well be waiting a while for any bids though, with reported valuation around £50million ($65m) a long way above market rate.

football.london says: Let's pause for a second, take a deep breath and get the laughing out of the way... Now that's over with, Chelsea are not going to be signing Maguire. He fits no part of the project at Stamford Bridge and doesn't really even come close to hitting any criteria.

Maguire is an out of form player for his club that is older than 17 which almost immediately rules him out of a move to Chelsea these days. He is English, which tends to help, and would be an in-league move as well but he's still not a player that ticks any of the boxes.

This was a rumour towards the end of last summer as well and to nobody's surprise nothing came of it. The most likely reality here is an agent doing the rounds to try and pump up some interest. The same was very much the case 12 months ago as well.

There is almost no chance; anything is possible in football they tell you, that Maguire joins Chelsea. He doesn't have the speed to feature in a Pochettino backline either, which on a footballing basis is very important. On the face of it, and with genuine analysis as well, we think this is nonsense. Just to reiterate, Maguire will not move to Chelsea.
