Chelsea learn price-tag for PSG defender Presnel Kimpembe

Chelsea will reportedly have to pay £43million to land PSG defender Presnel Kimpembe this summer.

Thomas Tuchel is looking to bolster his back line this summer after losing Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen last month.

There is also uncertainty concerning club captain Cesar Azpilicueta, who may be tempted to return to his homeland to join Barcelona.

The Blues could now turn their attention to Kimpembe to fix their defensive issues, but he will not come cheaply, with PSG valuing him at €50m (£43m), according to Foot Mercato.

Juventus are also interested in the French defender, as speculation continues to grow regarding Matthijs de Ligt's future at the club.

Chelsea have been linked with de Ligt themselves, while they are also monitoring Inter Milan centre-back Milan Skriniar, but could be rivalled by PSG for his signature.

Sevilla's Jules Kounde and Manchester City's Nathan Ake have emerged as potential targets as well, with Tuchel desperate to get his back line into shape ahead of next season.

Kimpembe has made 220 appearances since breaking into PSG's first-team in 2015, and won six league titles with the French giants.

He was also part of the France squad that won the World Cup in 2018, making one appearance in the group stage against Denmark.

He has gone on to receive 28 caps for his country, and was recently handed the captain's armband for their two clashes against Croatia in the Nations League.

PSG appear to be ready to move on from him, though, as they set their sights on ending their long wait for Champions League glory.
