Ben Chilwell posted - and then swiftly deleted - an Instagram photo of Chelsea teammates Mason Mount and Reece James clubbing in Los Angeles.
James is seen wearing a white cardigan with his middle finger up in the image, while Mount is holding a plastic cup while wearing a vintage NBA t-shirt.
However, The Sun reported that Chilwell was quick to take the post down. It is unclear whether the defender had a personal change of heart, or if it was an order from on high.
James also wore blue jeans and black Converse, while Mount is seen in black New York-branded trousers on their return to LA after a successful trip to Nevada.
Chiwell made his first start for the Blues after his ACL injury in the goalless first half of Chelsea's 2-1 pre-season friendly win over Club America in Paradise - the home of the NFL's Las Vegas Raiders - on Saturday night.
James and Mount were both introduced in the second half, and had key moments on the pitch which decided the result.
It was previously reported that James came under criticism from some fans for his involvement in a crazy own goal which gave the Mexican top-flight side an equaliser.
However, Mount saved the Blues' blushes by hitting a sublime winner seven minutes from time.
The 23-year-old was named as "Mason Hunt" on the stadium's big screen after hitting the decider.
Mount and James grew up together in Chelsea's academy system, and Sportsmail previously reported that he calls his compatriot 'The Beast', because the defender is 'quick, strong and powerful'.
Chelsea's next stop on their American pre-season tour is a match against Charlotte FC in North Carolina on Wednesday.
Three days later, they face a London derby against Arsenal in the Florida Cup Final at the Camping World Stadium in Orlando.
