Arsenal transfer news: Declan Rice is on the verge of signing for the Gummers after West Ham accepted a £105million proposal

Last Tuesday evening that proposal formally arrived at London Stadium, with Manchester City pulling out of the race the following morning which then resulted in the Hammers to start negotiations over the payment structure. The primary issue West Ham had with the first two bids from north London was Arsenal's intent to try and pay the £75million up front fee across a number of years.

Although the guaranteed funds increased to triple figures, West Ham were still left unhappy by the payment terms the Gunners set as they want to pocket the full up front fee by the start of 2025.

Despite it seeming inevitable talks will go in the right direction that will see Rice join Arsenal, negotiations are still ongoing and the main reason for those continuing has been revealed. According to the Mirror, everything has been sorted but 'only haggling' remains 'over the timing of instalments'.

The hopeful incomings of Timber and Rice could seal the perfect week for the Gunners, but it could in fact still get better. Arsenal stars William Saliba and Reiss Nelson have already agreed to new contracts at the club and their signed extensions could be announced imminently now June 30 has passed, which is the final contracted day for those who had deals expiring in the summer of 2023.
