Croatia defender Dejan Lovren is set to leave Zenit St Petersburg and 'rejoin his old club Lyon.'
The 33-year-old played 72 games for the French club between 2010 and 2013, before moving on to Southampton and then Liverpool.
He left Anfield as a Premier League champion in 2020 and has since spent the past two years playing for Zenit St Petersburg in Russia.
Lovren now looks set to move on again, with L'Equipe reporting the club have agreed a deal with him as they seek an experienced defender after Jerome Boateng fell out of favour.
The 33-year-old certainly boasts experience, with domestic trophies in four countries, a Champions League win and consecutive top three World Cup finishes.
He has six months left on his contract, but his understood to be leaving Zenit immediately.
L'Equipe also report that Lovren has completed a medical, and that the move should be announced in the coming days.
It could be the boost Lyon need to get their season back on track, as they currently sit eighth in the league after 17 games.
They're already nine points off the Champions League places and 20 points off league leaders Paris Saint-Germain.
An experienced winner like Lovren could be a key influence if Lyon are to surge up the Ligue 1 table as the season progresses.
