Dortmund vs Barcelona probable line-ups: Suarez returns to the XI, Messi benched

Barcelona will face Borussia Dortmund at Signal Iduna Park on Tuesday night, with the Blaugrana able to welcome Luis Suarez back into the starting line-up after his return from injury.

The Uruguayan came on against Valencia at the weekend and scored two goals in a 5-2 win, and he now seems set to start alongside Antoine Griezmann and likely Sergi Roberto in attack.

It is not guaranteed that Sergi Roberto will start, but Dortmund away in a Champions League opener may not be the right setting for a 16-year-old Ansu Fati to retain his place in the side.

The notable name on Barcelona's bench will be Lionel Messi, who is yet to play a minute of football since injuring his calf on his first day back for pre-season. The Argentine could play a part in the match in the second half.

For Dortmund, they have Real Madrid defender Achraf Hakimi on loan while there will be a Barcelona reunion for Paco Alcacer.

A couple of the names to note for the Germans are Jadon Sancho and Marco Reus, while the leadership of Mats Hummels at the back is likely to be a key factor in the match.

Borussia Dortmund's probable line-up: Roman Burki; Achraf Hakimi, Manuel Akanji, Mats Hummels, Raphael Guerreiro; Axel Witsel, Thomas Delaney; Jadon Sancho, Marco Reus, Julian Brandt; Paco Alcacer.

Borussia Dortmund's bench options: Marwin Hitz, Lukasz Piszczek, Dan-Axel Zagadou, Julian Weigl, Mahmoud Dahoud, Thorgan Hazard, Mario Gotze.

Barcelona's probable line-up: Marc-Andre ter Stegen; Nelson Semedo, Gerard Pique, Clement Lenglet, Jordi Alba; Ivan Rakitic, Sergio Busquets, Frenkie de Jong; Sergi Roberto, Luis Suarez, Antoine Griezmann.

Barcelona's bench options: Neto, Jean-Clair Todibo, Junior Firpo, Arthur Melo, Carles Alena, Arturo Vidal, Carles Perez, Ansu Fati, Lionel Messi.
