Former French Player Slams Mbappé's Disrespectful Behavior in Champions League Quarterfinals

Former French player Christophe Dugarry strongly criticized Kylian Mbappé for his behavior in the first leg of the Champions League quarterfinals against Barcelona, stating that he "disrespected" the competition.

"What he displayed was the worst of football and the worst of a top-level player. You can make mistakes, have a bad day, but that boy's behavior was scandalous, a lack of respect," Dugarry expressed on RMC Sport radio where he works as a commentator.

The former Barça player mentioned that Mbappé's performance is "a letdown for the fans, for those who believe in him, for those who pay him, for those who admire him, and for a Champions League quarter-final match ".

"You have disrespected the Champions League, a competition you supposedly aim to win. You had the chance to play in a magnificent stadium, against a full Barça team, and your attitude was a disgrace," he remarked.

Dugarry recognized that Mbappé's talent could potentially help his team turn the tie around and advance to the semifinals, but that wouldn't erase the negative impression he left.

"I never thought he could stoop so low, it's the worst display of attitude I've seen from him, and there have been a few," stated the former soccer player, who believed it was "unfair" to blame the coach, Luis Enrique, for Mbappé's poor performance.

Mbappé, who is in his final season at PSG, had a disappointing showing in the first leg of the quarterfinals where Barcelona triumphed 2-3 at the Parc des Princes.
